Philodendron Golden
The
Philodendron is part of the
large genus of flowering plants in the Araceae family, An easy to care for a
compact sub-tropical looking plant with its evergreen wavy high gloss leaves.
The Philodendron Burgundy is a hardy plant and responds well in
bedrooms, bathrooms, living rooms, and areas of shade.
Planting & Care
Sunlight: The Philodendron will
thrive in indirect sunlight. However, it will tolerate a shadier position. The
foliage will appear a deeper green in a shady position. Direct sunlight will
burn its leaves.
Soil: The
Philodendron prefers
rich soil that retains moisture.
Water: Likes
moist soil. Not too wet and not too dry. Water regularly but allow the soil to
partially dry out before watering again. The roots do not like to be left wet
so ensure that your pot has good drainage.
Fertilizer: During
spring and summer use an all-purpose liquid plant food to promote new growth.
Temperature: The Philodendron
prefers a warm and humid environment
Pruning: If
any leaves need removing it is fine to cut them off at the base of the plant.
